Even though the Persephone trail is linear, we choose to walk on a loop for part of the return leg. This will make the total distance with the return loop close to 8 km. The walk will take close to 2 ½ hours and is classified 1+ (easy to medium for difficulty). We walk a gentle downhill on the way out, and uphill on the way back. The walk reaches a location named Makria Kontarka, which offers an impressive panoramic view.
